Grotto Falls Utah is located in Payson Canyon. It is a short kid friendly hike at about .7 miles out and back. There is a little bit of elevation gain, but not much. My kids have done this hike as young as 2 years old! It really is perfect for all ages.Â

The trail leads to a waterfall with a small wading area. My kids love playing and throwing rocks in the water!Â
Getting to Grotto Falls Utah
To get there, follow the signs through Payson to the Nebo Loop Scenic Byway. Follow the road that goes up the canyon for 6.6 miles to the trailhead. There is parking on the righthand side of the road and the trail is on the left side

There was a fire in the area about 2 years ago. There is some erosion and one of the wooden bridges was burned, but it isn't bad. You can still make it across the river! The canyon gate is also closed October - May. You can still hike the trail during winter months, you would have to hike up the road making it a longer hike.Â
