Mossy Cave hike near Bryce Canyon National Park
Mossy Cave is a great out and back adventure for all ages! The trail is well traveled and easy to navigate. The trail is less than half a mile one way and follows a river. The trail winds through a small canyon with pines and cool rock formations.
There are two bridges to cross, if you want to go to the base of the water fall, go under the second bridge and follow the river up. When you go across the second bridge, it zig zags up a hill and the trail splits, you can either go right to the top of the waterfall or left up to the mossy cavern. During the early season the cavern still has plenty of ice formations which sometimes last up to July. But no matter what time of year the cavern has a lot of moss and greenery.Â
Our kids loved playing in the stream and going over the bridges.Â
